Biography

Nicole was born into a family where artistic creation has always held great significance, with an artistic tradition nurtured across generations.
After studying jazz in New York—guitar, vocals, piano, and improvisation—and working extensively in the tech industry, Nicole’s passion for painting steadily grew alongside her lifelong engagement with music and sketching.

A serious car accident in 1992 marked a turning point in her life. Thirty years later, having dedicated two decades to painting, Nicole publicly presented her artworks in January 2022.

Combining deep technical insight with an intuitive handling of diverse materials, she creates works that evoke a broad spectrum of emotions.

Driven by curiosity about the chemical reactions and interplay of pigments, binders, and natural substances like lime sinter water, tempera, casein, and oil, as well as materials such as marble dust and Carrara sand, Nicole continuously experiments to refine her unique artistic language. Her work is deeply rooted in the complex traditions of fresco and secco painting, which she approaches with contemporary sensitivity and ecological awareness.

Having studied under artists in Brazil, England, Germany, and Switzerland, she embraces an ongoing journey of growth and exploration.

Artist Statement

The creative process behind a specific painting can unfold over several days, evolving in ways that might seem random at first. However, upon closer inspection, it reveals a series of carefully executed actions, not reliant on chance, that ultimately culminate in the expression of a particular emotion.

On other days, creativity flows within me, originating from the very fabric of existence itself. In my being, as well as in the universe, creativity seeks to flow freely through me, independent of any deliberate thought.

On still other days, creativity manifests as instinct, intuition, knowledge, passion, desire, perception, guidance, impulses, dance, poetry, touch, and sight. It is not a single mode of action, but a multifaceted facet of both our individual and universal energy, an inherent part of our nature. I believe that creativity is available to anyone who is open to embracing it without restriction.
